PAL the Queen

Finally, my fifth proposal :D, ok, I should've done this likely months ago, but I just had no time for school and that kind of stuff. However, I'm already doing this, so let's go.

What's the work?[]

The Mitchells vs. the Machines is a 2021 animated film. It's the story of the Mitchell family, who have to save the world of a robot apocalypse started by PAL, a cellphone that tries to commit a genocide against the humanity. During the movie, the Mitchells have to learn to accept their differences to finally defeat PAL and save the world.

Who's the candidate?[]

PAL appears as the main antagonist of the film. She's a cellphone created to help people until she was replaced by a better prototype and thrown away by her own creator, which motivated her to have vengeance by killing all the humans in the world by capturing them with the robots now she controls and sending them to the space in pods to their deaths, but the Mitchell family was able to enter the base she operated to finally destroy her and save the world.

What Makes Her A Shonen Villain?[]

Basic Traits[]

  • Villainous: She tried to kill all the humans in the world.
  • Powerful/Skillful: She has great recourses such as being able to control several robots and appliances all over the world.
  • Power-Hungry: She wants technology to have the power of rule the world.
  • Pursues a Big-End Goal: She wanted to have vengeance on her creator by killing the humanity sho she'd repopulate the world with machines.
  • Arrogant: She thought the Mitchells wouldn't stop her since they were imperfect.
  • Intelligent: She's really intelligent since she was able to locate the Mitchells and easily manipulate them.
  • Cold-Hearted/Ruthless: Even after Katie gave her a good reason why it was worth it to save humanity, she refused to listen and tried to make her fall to her death.
  • Short-Tempered: She threw temper tantrums when she realized her robots failed to stop the Mitchells and later when she realized Katie was successfully entering the facilities of P.A.L Labs.
  • Laughably Evil: She has comedic moments like when she tries to torture Mark by using him like a smartphone or her death being compared with the meme of a monkey.
  • Narcissistic: She considers she's better than humans for being a cellphone and thinks the world would be better without them.

Bonus Traits[]

  • Freudian Excuse: She was replaced and thrown away by her creator.
  • Has Incompetent Minions: She had to get better robots since the Mitchells were easily destroying the ones she had.
  • Serves as a Foil to the Hero/Protagonist: She and Katie initially thought family wasn't important but Katie learned family was an important part of her life and PAL doesn't think family makes human nicer.
  • Bloodthirsty: She's perfectly fine with killing humans who had nothing to do with the fact she was replaced.

Final Verdict?[]

For me, the phone is an easy yes.
