The red lighting really does a good job of framing Lute in the most unholy and frightening light possible. Showing that while she may be an angel, she isn't a saint in ANY sense of the word.
“ | Lute: Rip Vaggie's c*nt mount out of her ass! Adam: Would you just, jus-, chill Lute F*ck. |

~ When Adam of all people is telling you to tone your bloodlust down, then you know you're a special brand of crazy. |
After familiarizing myself with the criteria, I feel confident in the candidate I have in mind making the cut.
For my first Shonen Villain proposal, I've chosen the Original D*ck's right hand B*tch and successor, the zealous Lute.
What's the Work?[]
Hazbin Hotel is an ongoing drama comedy tv show by Viviene Medrano. Taking place in Hell itself, we follow Charlie Morningstar, daughter of Lucifer and Lilith Morningstar and princess of the demonic realm, as she opens the titular Hotel with the goal of redeeming the damned souls of her domain and allow them to ascend to Heaven as a more humane solution to the annual purges of Sinners as decreed by Heaven. Hell being the kind of world it is, this is easier said than done, and Charlie and the few wayward souls she has convinced to give her project a shot meet more than a few challenges in their efforts to bring salvation to Hell.
Who Is She?[]
Lute is the first man Adam's right-hand woman and second in command of the Exorcist angel legions charged by the High Seraphim of Heaven with purging Sinners in Hell in a horrific annual Extermination event. 3 years ago, she maimed one of her subordinates, Vaggie, for sparing a cannibal child and left her for dead for her crime of compassion. She joins her superior in organizing the next Extermination 6 months in advance in response to one Exorcist being killed by Carmilla Carmine.
Shonen Villain Traits[]
Basic Traits[]
- Villainous/Anti-Villainous: As Adam's lieutenant and right-hand, she plays a direct role in the Exterminations of Hell's Sinner population, with Lute personally taking part in the slaughter of the once human souls with fanatical glee. She even boasts a kill count of 275 from the most recent Extermination alone, no doubt having killed hundreds more in other cleanses. She also gets in some personal villainy at her former subordinate Vaggie, who she personally maimed in response to seeing her spare a defenseless cannibal child, with Vaggie losing her left eye and for a time her wings for her compassion. At the climax of the current Extermination in S1, she kills one of Charlie's pets Dazzle before trying to kill Vaggie with her bare hands and is last seen taking Adam's place as head Exorcist and conscripting Lilith, swearing vengeance on the Hazbin Hotel for her friends death.
- Powerful/Skillful: While she lacks Adam's overwhelming power as an archangel, she makes for it with her ferocious sword skills and lightning speed, both of which allowed her to initially dominate Vaggie in their climactic fight.
- Pursues a Big-End Goal: Desires nothing less than the complete destruction of demon kind. And if her comments to Charlie in their first meeting are anything to by, she would gladly massacre all Hellborn demons in addition to Sinners, something even Adam doesn't seem to want despite being the founder of the Extermination.
- Arrogant: She takes immense pride in her holy status and practically sneers at those she views as her inferiors, which mostly includes demons, but she also shows it towards other angels that don't share her beliefs like Vaggie and potentially Emily. Quite ironic since Pride is one of the seven deadly sins that she claims to fight against.
- Cold-Hearted/Ruthless: Her bloodlust has no limit.
- Short-Tempered: She'll fly into a murderous rage in the blink of an eye.
- Psychopathic: The only person she shows any care for is her equally depraved boss. Everyone else is less than the dirt beneath her feet.
- Narcissistic: States that angels like her don't make mistakes and implying otherwise is a good way to earn her ire.
- Has a Sinister Laugh: Gives a few subdued but no less sinister chuckles as she fights against the Hazbin Hotel.
Bonus Traits[]
- Sadistic: Takes immense pleasure in brutally executing Sinners. But she especially shows it towards Vaggie, who she mutilates and psychologically torments in needless brutal and cruel way while also mocking her over Charlie's potential death at Adam's hands in the final battle. She's arguably a worse sadist than her boss, if Adam's grossed out reaction to her vulgar and graphic threats towards Vaggie before the Extermination are anything to go by.
- Serves as a Foil to the Hero/Protagonist: Is basically Vaggie without compassion or empathy for others.
- Bloodthirsty: Is just as gleeful about killing Sinners as her master, even keeping count of how many she killed in past Exterminations, and by her own admission would kill Hellborns too if Lucifers pardon for them weren't holding her back. She also gets way too excited about torturing Vaggie to death, enough for even Adam to tell her to chill out. She also has bloodstains on her uniform.
- Is a Game Changer: In stark contrast to her goofball superior, Lute is taken completely seriously by the series and by the other characters, with her personal acts of villainy being treated in a far darker light than Adam's. Her brutalizing Vaggie is considered one of the most horrific atrocities in the series, topped only by Valentino's abuse and rape of Angel Dust.
- Is a Secondary-Color Nemesis: Wears mostly dark grey on her uniform.
- Has Black Air Force Energy: A mass murdering zealot who disregards moral and lawful boundaries in pursuit of satisfying her hatred and cruelty towards Hell beings.
