I'm back...yet again. This time I'm proposing someone I've had on my mind for quite some time now, I think he easily qualifies so here it goes.
What's the work?[]
We Bare Bears: The Movie is a 2020 movie made by Daniel Chong that serves as the finale of the Cartoon Network TV show We Bare Bears. It centers around Grizz, Panda and Ice Bear when they go on the run from the head of National Wildlife Control Agent Trout after they accidentally cause a power outage in their hometown of San Francisco, California.
Who is he?[]
Agent Buck Trout is the main antagonist of the movie. He is the leader of the National Wildlife Control who is prejudiced towards bears and wants to restore the "natural order" by separating the three titular bears, Grizz, Panda and Ice Bear.
What makes him a Shonen Villain?[]
Basic Traits[]
- Villainous/Anti-Villainous: He captured and abused dozens of innocent bears for his own sadistic pleasure, deceives everyone in the city about the Bears being dangerous and has them shipped to a bear reserve, and tries to leave all of the bears to die in the wildfire out of spite for ruining his plans.
- Powerful/Skillful: He is a very skilled wildlife agent who possesses a large amount of power, having an army of guards and an entire prison at his disposal.
- Power-Hungry: As a xenophobic and corrupt government agent, he is determined to maintain order by any means necessary in the excuse to bring sustainability to his life and do whatever he wants.
- Pursues a Big-End Goal: He is determined to maintain the "natural order" as much as possibly by separating the Bear brothers.
- Arrogant: He is an extremely arrogant human supremacist and has an inflated ego, with his arrogance leading to his downfall at the end where he was ambushed by a disgusted Officer Murphy who finally had enough of his cruel acts and arrested him for his crimes against the bears.
- Intelligent: He is very intelligent, being able to manipulate everyone into thinking that the Bears are a danger to society and come up with evil plans that nearly succeed.
- Cold-Hearted/Ruthless: He is by far the most ruthless villain in the We Bare Bears franchise (alongside Barry Charles), imprisoning innocent animals for no reason other than the fact that he's a human supremacist. He is also very cold-hearted and controlling towards other humans who act dumb, incompetent, or side with animals, especially Officer Murphy and Chloe Park.
- Short-Tempered: He repeatedly Officer Murphy by shoving a donut and other objects up his mouth just to shut him up constantly for petty reasons, berates one of his soldiers for letting the Bears get away, rants about his immense hatred towards bears and anything inhuman upon being confronted by Grizz and the other bears, and upon getting trapped in an empty cage by the bears he has a raging breakdown, angrily yelling at them about how nature with bears doesn't work.
- Laughably Evil: He has a few very minor comedic scenes, such as wondering how the Bears will pay for a lawyer in honey, saying they stack as the worst thing, and his defeat via getting a donut shoved up his mouth by Officer Murphy. Other than that, he's taken completely seriously.
- Psychopathic: He is an extremely cruel and racist psychopath who is afraid of what is different and is obsessed with "maintaining order" and enjoys using his authority in torturing and imprisoning animals (especially bears) for sport and pleasure.
- Narcissistic: He claims he's doing his crimes to maintain natural orders by any means necessary, but it is out of ill-intentional egotism rather than genuine extremism, and he only uses it as an excuse to justify his actions and do whatever he wants, even if it means capturing and abusing many bears for sports and pleasure.
- Has a Sinister Laugh: Upon trying to leave all of the bears to die in the wildfire, he laughs manically shortly before his defeat at Officer Murphy's hands.
Bonus Traits[]
- Sadistic: He takes immense pleasure in capturing various bears and imprisoning them in an animal reserve center with rather harsh conditions so he can torment them for sport. He also uses the Bears to escape from the wildfire onto the helicopter and attempts to leave them to burn to death, showing immense sadistic satisfaction in his actions when he laughs manically after taunting Grizz that the bear stack cannot reach him.
- Has Incompetent Minions: His National Wildlife Control soldiers manage to find the Bears at an inspection stop and try to tell him that they were there, but the Bears manage to escape and are replaced by a group of hippies in a similar van as theirs, leaving him to berate one of the soldiers for their failure and incompetence.
- Bloodthirsty: He has no problem with abusing various captured bears for his own sadistic pleasure, and has no problem with attempting to leave Grizz, Panda, Ice Bear and all of the Caged Bears to die in the wildfire out of spite.
- Is a Game Changer: Unlike other villains from We Bare Bears, he has no redeeming qualities, is not played for laughs and his crimes are taken completely seriously; in fact he easily darkens the mood of an otherwise lighthearted series as its darkest antagonist after Barry.
- Is a Secondary-Color Nemesis: He wears black gloves and a black business suit as part of his attire.
- Is a Dark Lord: He manipulates the public into thinking that the Bears are a threat to society and need to be separated in order to maintain the "natural order" during a court hearing.
Verdict?[]
