Individual Characters

  • Doctor Octopus (Raimiverse): While he is arguably the most destructive and heinous villain of Sam Raimi’s trilogy, he loses all of his villainous qualities by the end of character arc in No Way Home, becoming a wholly good character.
  • Dr. Two-Brains: He has too many moral agency issues to qualify.
  • Gennon: He fails the criteria to Griffith and Guts.
  • Heinz Doofenshmirtz: Although a cartoonish villain with hegemonic goals, he is way too affable, tragic, incompetent, and heroic to fit here.
  • Ice King: Most of his worst crimes were done under the influence of the crown with the story showing that he's a good person without it.
  • L Lawliet: Despite being the main antagonist, he is a hero not a villain. In fact, his rival, Light Yagami is the one who has a page here.
  • M. Bison (Secret History of Megaman): Despite being Pure Evil, he is a rather flat and enigmatic character and doesn't seem to meet enough of the basic qualifications, especially considering the other villains in Mashed.
  • Murdoch Swan: While he is a horrible person, he never does anything truly heinous, being a neutral character.
  • Principal Elliot T. Jindraike: Though he is completely irredeemable, he is too incompetent to pose a serious threat to the heroes.
  • Rose Armitage: She doesn't meet enough traits to qualify.
  • Theodore Tobias "Tobey" McCallister III: Though quite heinous, his main goal and purpose is to gain the affection of the series' hero WordGirl.
  • Thumper: While he is the morally worst character of his story, he is largely two-dimensional, simply just being a guard dog with moral agency allowing him to be PE, and fails the standards to Hopper, who is much more deeply characterized.
  • Toy Taker: He never crosses the Moral Event Horizon due to never harming innocent people, only capturing toys to prevent them from experiencing the terrible fate he suffered in his past.
  • William James Moriarty: While an approved Seinen Hero (who can also become a Shonen Villain) added with his crimes could make him qualify, his other archetypes block him from qualifying. Not to mention, his story is about redemption rather than corruption.

Disallowed Works/Genres

  • Any Shock Value/Exploitation Works: The nature of these goes against the very idea of the Shonen Villain archetype for a few reasons:
    • Most Shonen Villains fight against the heroes whereas every character in shock value works is morally depraved.
    • Shonen Villains come from stories that are appropriate for almost all viewers. Meanwhile, shock value works are extremely obscene to the point of controversy.

Undetermined Candidates

  • Agent Stone (Sonic Cinematic Universe)
  • Jax (The Amazing Digital Circus)
  • Josephine Leonides (Crooked House)
  • Oh Il-nam (Squid Game)
  • Shadow the Hedgehog (Sonic Cinematic Universe)

Notes

  • Real life people, unless if they are WWE wrestlers (who only fit under the circumstance of their fights being scripted), aren't allowed here.
