Obito Uchiha is the one of the two main antagonists (along with Madara) of Naruto.
He is voiced by Wataru Takagi and Naoya Uchida (as Madara) in Japanese and by Michael Yurchak and Neil Kaplan in English.
What Makes Him a Shonen Villain?[]
- Villainous/Anti-Villainous: As the de facto main antagonist of Naruto, Obito has committed many evil acts, most notably kickstarting the story by causing the Nine-Tails to attack Konoha.
- Powerful/Skillful: While he wasn't very skilled in his youth compared to Kakashi, after training with Madara, Obito would become a very powerful shinobi, and also at one point had political influence over Kirigakure.
- Pursues a Big-End Goal: Like Madara, Obito wants to create an ideal world with the Infinite Tsukuyomi.
- Arrogant: While he isn't overconfident or a Smug Snake by any means, Obito possesses a decent amount of hubris.
- Intelligent: Obito is a highly intelligent master manipulator, and used it very often mostly to his gain.
- Cold-Hearted: After falling victim to the Curse of Hatred, he has no place in his heart for almost anyone, not even Madara.
- Tragic Past: He has a very tragic backstory, as he grew up without his parents and was viewed as a joke by the other children except for Rin, and even then, he would personally see her die to Kakashi's chidori, awakening his Mangekyou Sharingan.
- Serves as a Foil to the Hero/Protagonist: Obito was written to be a darker version of Naruto, starting off as a kid who wanted to be recognized by his village by becoming Hokage like him, but fell to darkness later on.
