What Makes Him a Shonen Villain?[]
- Villainous: Frieza committed genocide against Planet Vegeta and destroyed many Saiyans out of sadistic pleasure.
- Powerful: Frieza is shown to have incredible physical strength and massive control with his ki that he destroyed Planet Vegeta with only one ki ball.
- Power-Hungry: Frieza has deep desire to conquer the entire universe.
- Pursues a Big-End Goal: While he has already achieved his goal in eliminating the Saiyans, Frieza wants to achieve universal domination and become the strongest fighter in the universe.
- Arrogant: Frieza is prejudiced against the Saiyans and is shown to have a high sense of superiority over them in terms of power.
- Intelligent: While he occasionally lets his arrogance and impatience get the better of him, Frieza has great leadership skills and is a strategic fighter.
- Cold-Hearted/Ruthless: Frieza has absolutely no redeeming qualities, as he shows no remorse for murdering the Saiyan.
- While he did play a role in helping the Z-Fighters with saving the universe by participating in the Tournament of Power, it is only because Goku threatens to send him to Hell if he turns the offer down.
- Short-Tempered: Frieza is quick to lose his patience with others to the point where he is quick to get violent when tired of waiting.
- Laughably Evil: Due to his extreme sadism and hamminess, Frieza can come off as funny.
- Psychopathic: He often behaves like a spoiled brat due to his complete lack of empathy. Best shown in Resurrection ‘F’, where he whines and throw temper tantrum that involves punching small craters into the ground when Vegeta beats him out of his super form.
- Narcissistic: Frieza has a humongous ego and looks down on those he views as inferior to him.
- Has a Sinister Laugh: Frieza often laughs hysterically whenever he murders innocent people or destroys multiple planets.
- Sadistic: Frieza takes a colossal amount of pleasure when murdering people.
- Serves as a Foil to the Hero: Whereas Goku desires to protect those he cares about, Frieza doesn't value his followers and would kill anyone for pleasure.
- Freudian Excuse: While it doesn't justify his actions, it was said that Frieza was likely abused to become the monster he is today. However, that's just speculation and it's not fully confirmed.
- Bloodthirsty: Frieza gets thrilled when killing his enemies.
- Is a Game Changer: Frieza has one of the highest body counts in the series, is the leader of a powerful organization that depopulates planets, is not anyone's pawn (unlike Raditz, Nappa and Vegeta), his actions are the key cause of everything that's happened in the franchise, including the Namek Saga, which was given its reputation as one of the darkest moments in the franchise due to him murdering Krillin and causing Goku to become a Super Saiyan for the first time.
- He also could be considered this for the Super adaption. While the first saga is whimsical and light-hearted with the closest antagonist being Beerus who's comedic and end-up befriending Goku and his other in the end. Frieza brings a more menacing and darker tone into the air even compared to the movie version since he personally attacks Goku's friends (especially Krillin) just to hurt Goku, brutally tortures Gohan, kills Piccolo and reveals that once he's done killing Goku and blowing up the Earth that he will go to Namek and blow it up again as well so that the Dragon Balls will be destroyed too, which he actually ends up doing to Earth a few minutes later.
- Is a Secondary-Color Nemesis: Parts of Frieza's body is purple.
- Has Black Air Force Energy: Frieza shows boldness and shamelessness in destroying planets and innocent people.
