What Makes Him a Shonen Villain?[]
- Villainous: Dr. Eggman has been conquering many worlds on multiple occasions and any good deed he does is mostly out of pragmatism.
- Skillful: Thanks to his genius-level IQ of 300, Eggman is an genius inventor in creating robots, airships, space stations and elaborate gadgets.
- Power-Hungry: Eggman wants to conquer as many worlds as he wants.
- Pursues a Big-End Goal: Eggman plans to take over the world and sometimes the entire universe.
- Arrogant: Due to his enormous intellect, Eggman is incredibly arrogant to the point of being egotistical, pompous and self-aggrandizing.
- Intelligent: As mentioned above, Eggman has a impossible IQ of 300, making him the most intelligent character in the Sonic Universe.
- Cold-Hearted/Ruthless: While he does have a tiny bit of humanity within him thanks to his love for a few people, mainly his late grandfather Gerald, cousin Maria and creation Sage, Eggman is overall an abusive and maniacal evil scientist who would stop at nothing to conquer any world.
- Short-Tempered: Eggman has rather explosive temper, especially when his plans are foiled by Sonic.
- Psychopathic: Eggman's lack of empathy for others is also supported for the fact that he is very childish and immature, throwing tamper tantrums often when he loses or things don't go his way, and created deadly amusement parks of himself.
- Narcissistic: Has a massive ego, to the point that he plasters his face on near everything he conquers and tends to blame his own failures on either his minions or Sonic himself. Although Frontiers reveals is due to a lack of attention in his childhood, causing him to be desperate for people to respect his intellect and not make him feel alone.
- Sadistic: Eggman has no issue with harming the innocent and occasionally takes pleasure in it.
- Freudian Excuse: Eggman had a neglectful childhood, as almost everyone in his family gave their attention to his older cousin.
- Has Incompetant Minions: Eggman has several robot servants, mainly Orbot and Cubot, who are proven to be a hindrance in his schemes.
- Serves as a Foil to the Hero/Protagonist: Whereas Sonic is an overall heroic hedgehog with a bit of cocky streak, Eggman is an overall evil scientist with a bit of humanity within him.
- Laughably Evil: Dr. Eggman's humor comes from his plans backfiring on him as a result of his arrogance, his unhinged behavior and abusing his minions.
- Calls Out Attacks: Has done this several times before, such as he did when he shouts how he was gonna charge at Sonic in Sonic the Hedgehog 2006, and has done this again in Sonic Generations when he used the Death Egg Robot and in the Egg Dragoon. He has a few more examples that include:
- HERE I COME, SONIC!
- I WILL FLATTEN YOU!
- FIRE!!!!!!
- PREPARE TO BE SKEWERED!
- SEPERATION ATTACK!
- Has a Sinister Laugh: He often provided some sinster laughing in the Sonic CD game, had expressed plenty of maniacal laughs in Sonic Generations, lets out several laughs when he trapped Sonic in his Super form, and the list just goes on.
