Deebo is the main antagonist of the Friday franchise. He was portrayed by the late Tommy Lister Jr., and in the animated series, he was voiced by Kevin Michael Richardson.

What Make Him a Shonen Villain?[]

  • Villainous/Anti-Villainous: Deebo has been bullying and terrorizing his neighbors to the point of nearly killing Craig on two occasions.
  • Powerful/Skillful: Deebo is strong enough to knock out anyone weaker than him with one punch.
  • Pursues a Big-End Goal: In the second film, Deebo wants to beat up Craig as revenge for defeating him in the first film.
  • Arrogant: Deebo underestimates others who are smaller as being weaker than him.
  • Intelligent: Though he is sorely lacking in formal education, Deebo is rather street-smart and can think of plans on his feet.
  • Cold-Hearted/Ruthless: Deebo is a jerk to everyone to the point of punching his girlfriend Felisha when he assumed she was stealing money from his pants and slapping her sister Debbie when she calls him out for it.
  • Short-Tempered: Deebo is incredibly prone to anger.
  • Laughably Evil: Much of Deebo's humor is how he intimidates everyone around him.
  • Psychopathic: Deebo is largely devoid of empathy and is quick to resort to violence when he doesn't get his way.
  • Sadistic: Deebo enjoys bullying and terrorizing his neighbors.
  • Has Incompetent Minions: Deebo's younger brother Tyrone functions as his sidekick and is considerably less competent and physically weaker than him.
  • Serves as a Foil to the Hero/Protagonist: Deebo acts a foil to Craig in that the former disregards the feelings of others whereas the latter learns to stand up for not only himself, but for others as well.
  • Bloodthirsty: Deebo takes pleasure in beating up anyone who is physically smaller and weaker than him.
  • Has Black Air Force Energy: Deebo has absolutely no regard for the safety of anyone, not even his own brother Tyrone, and shows no mercy in the pain he inflicts on others.
  • Immature: Deebo behaves like an overgrown trouble-making punk, wears clothes in a somewhat childish fashion, and often seen riding a bike.
