Captain Chantel Shannon DuBois is the main antagonist of the Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted, the third installment of the Madagascar film franchise.
An extremely talented and ruthless animal control officer, she is the leader of her own platoon of enforcement commissioned to trace out Alex and the rest of the gang.
What Makes Her a Shonen Villain?[]
- Villainous: Even in spite of her profession as an animal control peace official, she nevertheless used it as a caveat for her own agenda of killing animals.
- Powerful/Skillful: Especially with physical capability in mind and even without a weapon in hand, she is impressively powerful. Larger beasts included, animals (and even humans) generally recognize her as a formidable combatant. She also demonstrated the ability to miraculously heal injuries with her singing voice.
- Pursues a Big End Goal: She dedicated her time to tracing out Alex and his friends intending to kill him, and most likely the others.
- Arrogant: She is heavily prideful, believing her own ability to be more than sufficient to accomplish her goals.
- Intelligent: Adding to her expansive encyclopedic knowledge of animal behaviors, she is able to map out the pattern of animals with her unique ability to individually distinguish the scent each one provided essence at the scene.
- Cold-Hearted/Ruthless: She is so ruthless even getting arrested in Italy didn't stop her from pursuing the gang. Even when granted a bounty of $1 million for having "brought back" Alex and the gang, she opted to put killing Alex before it, proving her steely nature.
- Short-Tempered: Though specifically noted by the animals, she is hostile, bellicose, and abrasive in her common fashion of behavior. Prone to fits of anger, she has also been violent to other people. An example would be her pettily, repeatedly, and rebukingly slapping the guard merely for "interrupting" her prowl.
- Laughably Evil: She has genuinely comedic moments, for example getting wedged between two Elephants' big butts and shot out of a cannon at the circus.
- Psychopathic: She has very little to no regard for the well being of others, constantly endangering others in her course of action on its own.
- Has a Sinister Laugh: When preparing to kill Alex, she unveiled her wicked tone of laughter.
- Sadistic: She is an extensively sadistic and cruel individual, having realized when she was just 7 that she truly enjoys killing and torturing animals in depraved fashions.
- Has Incompetent Minions: Her men are more often than not bumbling and buffoonish. More often than not, she had to do exert the most part of the necessary effort herself. On one occasion, she referred to them as "stupid bozos".
- Bloodthirsty: She is a savage animal killer who not only enjoys what she does, but keeps "trophies" of her evil-doings in the form of animal remains.
- Is a Game Changer: Especially for such a light-hearted and kid-friendly setting that is generally comical in tone, she is for starters conveyed as what would be tantamount to a serial killer. Adding to such fact is in addition to her poaching itself being played for horror (especially by the in-story narrative), she is taken as a completely serious and as nothing short of a genuine threat by the animals. She is overall taken so seriously that an entire gang of large animals, including Alex and Gloria, are truly and utterly terrified of her.
- Has Black Air Force Energy: She has little to no regard for the law, as she crossed into other nations far out of her jurisdiction and caused mass property damage.
